Debut in France and Slovakia
September 26 – October 1 2013 Moscow City Symphony – Russian Philharmonic will be on tour in France and Slovakia. The orchestra will make its debut in Lyon, France at the 66th International Music Festival in Bezancon. In Slovakia the orchestra will perform at the Reduta concert hall of Slovak Philharmonic Society. Conductor – Kazuki Yamada (Japan), the winner of the International Competition for young conductors in Bezancon, soloists – Alexander Kniazev (cello) and Leonard Schreiber (Belgium, violin). The program of the tour includes Second Symphony by Rachmaninoff, First cello concerto by Shostakovich, Violin concerto by Khachaturian, Suite Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov, and overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila by Glinka. Also, a piece written by contemporary composer Misato Mochizuki (Japan) will be premiered in Bezancon.
