Moreover, more than 10 years Namin is artistic director and chief stage manager of founded by himself Moscow Music and Drama Theatre - the first musical theatre in this country. To sum up, it’s hard to imagine more active and prolific creative personality – Namin is always in pursuit of new ideas, he finds them, puts into life, and then pursuit again…
Besides working with the band Flowers Stas Namin makes experiments in ethnic and symphonic music. His suite “Fall in Petersburg” was first heard in 2007 at the Moscow International House of Music performed by the Russian Federal Symphony Orchestra.
The suite consists of eight parts written in different styles – from classical to modern, with jazz and rock elements. Each part is laconic and very expressive. Liquid elegiac melody played by strings and harps in the first parts sometimes changes by ricky-ticky rhythm and polyphony. One may hear extracts from early songs – “Nostalgia”, “Ice Floes”, etc. Well-known melodies are as if plaited into general musical pattern. It makes all part various, recognizable and solid at the same time. In the last parts dramatic effect appears in melody development and general orchestra sounding. Rhythmic pattern changes, it becomes sharp and impetuous. The suite is distinctive because of vivid melodism, laconic form, and profound lyricism.
