Moscow City Symphony – Russian Philharmonic and Art-project “Tenors of the XXI century” have prepared a special program in commemoration of outstanding singer and composer of the 20th century Muslim Magomaev.

Unique voice, high artistic skill and emotional generosity of Muslim Magomaev won several generations of the audience. His repertoire range was immensely wide – operas, musicals, Neapolitan songs, vocal compositions by Azerbaijani and Russian composers, variety songs… He became well-known at the age of 19, after performing at the Festival of Youth in Helsinki. He gained all-USSR popularity after performance at the final concert of Azerbaijani Art in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses in 1962.

The first recital of Muslim Magomaev took place at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall on November 10, 1963. In 60-s and 70-s Magomaev’s popularity in the USSR was enormous: concerts at stadiums of thousands, endless tours all over the Soviet Union, constant performances on television. Records with his songs appeared with great circulation. At the age of 31 the singer was honoured with the highest award – the title of People’s Artist of the USSR.  The singer was an idol of millions during many decades, and his name, undoubtedly, became a distinctive symbol of our art…

The most famous arias and songs from the repertoire of Muslim Magomaev will be executed at the concert.
