The Fifth Symphony by Beethoven is one of the most popular works not only in the composer’s heritage, but in the world classical music as well. The main theme of Beethoven’s symphonysm – heroics of struggle reflected in the most concentrated way, developing “from darkness to light, through struggle to victory” – is revealed in this composition. Beethoven who was scant of verbal explanations, indicated the basic theme of the symphony as the fate sound symbol: “So fate is knocking at the dour”.

Laurent Korcia is one of the most distinctive violinists of his generation. 'Instrumental Soloist of the Year' at the Victoires de la Musique and 'Chevalier des arts et lettres', he received the SACEM George Enesco Prize and the Grand Prix of the Académie Charles Cros. He performs regularly with the most renowned conductors such as C. Dutoit ,S. Bychkov, D. Gatti, V. Gergiev, E. Krivine, K. Masur, J. Nelson, M. Plasson, Y. Sado, T. Sokhiev, V. Spivakov, etc. The musician includes solo violin recitals in his concert repertoire, with programmes ranging from Bach to contemporary music. Laurent Korcia recorded the complete Sonatas for Violin solo by E. Ysaÿe and compositions by B. Bartok (Concerto № 2, Sonata for Violin solo, Contrastes, Sonata № 1).
