Season Overview

Season 2014 – 2015 – 15th anniversary season of Moscow City Symphony – Russian Philharmonic.

Opening of the season took place on September 29, 2014 at Moscow International House of Music, Svetlanov Hall.

January 30 - ABBA Symphony. Gold hits of famous Swedish group ABBA in symphonic arrangement. Conductor - Ulf Wadenbrandt (Sweden). Soloists - Elisa Lindstrom, Anneli Axelsson, Magnus Backlund.

February 7 & 8 - legendary cantata Carmina Burana by Carl Orff accompanied by large-scaled dynamic slide and video projections of Botticelli's, Bosch's, Breugel's, Durer's paintings.

February 12 - present to Saint Valentine's Day from Russian Philharmonic - concert "Holiday for Those in Love". The program included The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by A. Piazzolla, the most beautiful waltzes by P. Tchaikovsky, J. Strauss, A. Khachaturian, E. Doga.

February 20 - magic and romantic concert named "Night Temptation". Beauty and miracle of the night in musical pieces and with great contemporary pianist Boris Berezovsky.

March 6 - "Viva Mozart!" concert will be performed at Chamber Hall, Moscow International House of music. The program includes the most well-known Mozart's compositions such as Overture to The marriage of Figaro, Symphony № 40, Concerto № 21 for piano and orchestra. Soloist - Alexander Sinchuk.

Festival to the 15th anniversary of Russian Philharmonic (concerts of March 15 and 28)

March 15 - Best Rhapsodies of the World. Rhapsody on the Theme of Paganini by S. Rachmaninoff, Tzigane Rhapsody by M. Ravel, Rhapsody in Blue by G. Gershwin, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and others will be performed at this concert.

March 28 - "Insane Dances". All compositions from this concert are united by the dance element. One will hear fiery Polovetsian Dances, Mambo from The Westside Story, Sabre Dance and Lezginka, famous Bolero by M. Ravel as well. Conductor - Dmitri Jurowski.
